I was looking around for another job. I looked all around my area, but wasn’t able to find anything relevant to my degree. I didn’t care if I had to move, so I starting looking outside of my area. I found a few jobs in areas that were in the same state, but a few hours away from where I lived. I applied for them and impatiently waited to hear something back from the companies.
I was able to interview for the jobs I applied for. I accepted one that was in Rockville, Maryland. It paid better than the other job I applied for and I knew it would be a great opportunity for me and my career. I started getting everything in order so I could move there. They said they would give me a few weeks to get relocated before I started my job.
I let my landlord know I wasn’t going to be able to finish out my lease and asked if there was anything I could do. I explained that I accepted a job in another town and they were really understanding. They told me they would allow me to break the lease without any penalties. It was such a relief to hear the landlord say that and it was one less thing I had to worry about.
I started searching for an apartment in Rockville, Maryland to rent. I wanted something that was close to my job and wouldn’t require me to drive very far. I searched online and found several apartments for rent. I mapped them out to find out how close they were to my new job. I was happy to find a few close. I contacted the landlords and asked some questions I had about them since I wouldn’t be able to look at the apartments before moving into them. I was able to get more pictures of the apartments I was interested in and from there chose one to rent. I was able to pay the deposit and secure the rental over the phone.
I got moved out of my old apartment and into my new one the same day with the help of some friends. I started my new job the following week. So far, I love the job and I really love the area I am living. I couldn’t be happier with my choice to relocated here and take this job.
